Stillwater Campground is located 32 mi from Evanston, Wyoming, just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway at an elevation of 8.5 ft. The confluence of the Stillwater Fork and Hayden Fork is just outside the campground, providing great fishing opportunities. I love going to Stillwater with family every year. Never had complaints about our site or hosts. This year was great in spite of rude management. I loved our camp host, but the management that stays there also has issues with handling any situation. I ( and my family) were spoken to and treated with the utmost rudeness. My children were there for two days but were treated horribly. The hospitality was atrocious. We have never been treated with so much disrespect. I will continue to camp here in the future, but training and guidelines would be most appreciated.

Policies & Rules

Arrival & departure

  • Gates open at 7am and close at 10pm; max occupancy is 8 per site; no off-road vehicles; maintain cleanliness and quietness; specific prohibitions in place.
  • FF sites require in-person check-in; reservations must be made 5 days in advance; no waiting list available.
  • For more information, contact local ranger districts or visit the campground website and social media.

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

Wildlife & food storage

  • Store food and trash securely to avoid wildlife attraction; violations can lead to fines and removal.

Safety & rules

  • Bring trash bags as this facility follows a 'pack it in, pack it out' policy.
  • A minimum stay of 2 nights is required on weekends and 3 nights on holiday weekends.
  • Users assume full responsibility for their actions and any accidents or losses incurred.

Pets

  • Dogs must be leashed (max 6') and cleaned up after; limit 2 dogs per site; no threatening or damaging behavior allowed.

Utilities

  • Arrive with filled water tanks; no hooking up to spigots or restroom power allowed.

  • Discounts apply only with Senior or Access passes; proof required; pay the difference if not qualified.
