What Guests Are Saying
Gros Ventre Campground offers a convenient location near the Grand Tetons, with clean facilities, well-marked sites, and friendly staff. Visitors appreciate the ample space for camping, wildlife sightings, and ranger programs. However, some guests have reported issues with ADA site accessibility, noisy neighbors, and a lack of showers. Overall, it remains a popular choice for its beautiful setting and amenities.

Campsites are clean and have distance between them. Not stacked on top of each other. The hosts come around after each site is emptied to make sure everything is clean and ready for the next tenant. Staff is courteous and friendly. We really like this campground.

Let me start by saying that we arrived at this campground after spending 3 days at Bakers Hole, which was an incredible experience, so we were slightly taken aback. This campground is enormous. By far, the biggest I have ever stayed at.
Most people staying here had RVs or similar campers. We were tent camping.
There were loads of large groups camping here, as well as families with children and infants.
The combination of a large campground, campers, and the amount of people there made it a very loud experience, which was not very pleasant.
The bathroom was fairly clean and there was running water, which is always a plus.
At night, it was confusing to navigate the site.
The campsite itself had loads of ants (it is the great outdoors after all) and we had to strategically place our tent as to not sit atop their nest entrance. The campsite was very long and oddly shaped and we were confused if it merged with the one behind it.
We did not interact with the hosts.

It’s always been a great stop over when passing through the parks. The downside is the prices, they’re getting expensive. We paid $77 for a power site. Always good for a night but I don’t think I’d stay beyond that.

I had site #326 and it was not a great site. There was only hard, uneven ground with occassional rocks for a tent site and no shade available. There was zero view of the tetons, which was the point of camping here, and this campsite is not a part of the park, which was also the reason I wanted to camp here. The only positive of this site was it was located a stones throw from the bathrooms, but this could also be seen as a negative for some. The sites were elbow to elbow and offered no extra benefit of location or view. I ultimately decided not to camp here and left. Very disappointed, especially considering the cost of this site was more than double other Recreation.gov sites.

This is a gigantic campground. Check-in took 5 minutes. Staff was courteous and personable. Bathrooms had flush toilets and were among the cleanest I've seen. Five stars for the campground.
I would not rate the guests five starts. Especially the guy running a noisy generator from 8am to 10pm. They need to BAN those.

We enjoyed our stay here. Everyone was friendly and went out of there way to help us when we arrived a day earlier then scheduled! We had been traveling and got ahead of schedule without realizing it. The registration area found another site for us to stay in since we were a day earlier. We sooo appreciated that ! Would highly recommend!

Water Hookup Fee: The Utility fee is imposed on all lodging and camping products to defer the higher cost of providing water and sewer in the remote locations in which we operate. The amount of this fee is determined by taking the difference in the cost of providing these services less the comparable cost of similar services in local areas. This fee is reviewed annually and approved by the National Park Service. |
