There are numerous campsites that have nice break in between them so you don't feel you are right on top of anyone. We had a spot near the water, and although the embankment down to the water was rather steep right by our spot we managed to find a cut-through to offload the kayak and drop it into the water right nearby. The campground we had was well kept and not too trashed. The bathroom nearby was simple ad acceptably clean and there was a fresh water pipe across the street from the restroom. Alll in all a USFS gem of an area. Kayaking up to the top, more interesting part of the lake is farther than it looks and I think I might try the dedicated boat put-in farther north to cut down on the time to get to the northern part of the lake. **HIGH WIND WARNING: Know the weather before you go out on this lake as winds whip up from the South and create very big waves very quickly (it can go from nothing to 3 foot waves in 10 minutes!) ALWAYS wear a life jacket! Be prepared, be safe!**

Fremont Lake Campground is our favorite camping experience in all of the USA. Each campsite is separated from your ‘neighbors’. The views are the best ever, and we have had deer walking through our campsite as well. We have seen osprey and eagles overhead as well. The bathrooms are always clean too. The camp hosts are available if needed too.

None of the sites in the camp loop where we were had a level tent site. All of them were very uneven and had rocks and holes that mad a tent camp poor or nearly impractical. Site prices for camping were over priced and high for the area and quality of sites.

Incredible site by the lake. We were next to the hosts and they were super nice. We can’t wait to go back as there is so much to do and the natural beauty is just gorgeous.
Fishing not great tho, better up at Half Moon Lake.
