It was a very nice stay. Well kept and great people as neighbors. The Moose was friendly. Loved it when I rubbed his ears.

Beautiful views if you can get a spot on the lake. There was a moose hanging out less than 100 yards from my site. Camp host was friendly.

Outstanding campground retreat, we stayed 2 nights. Our site #15 was adjacent to the tensleep creek, ensuring calming noise to fall asleep to. Shared bear locker between 3 tent sites here. Short walk from the parking to campsite.

Meadowlark lake very peaceful. Took an expedition a few minutes east on hwy 16 to a lookout point. Look for sign (forget name of ranger honored by lookout) and drive 5 more minutes up dirt roads. Go for a 10-15 minute hike up a 150 feet for a wonderful lookout of the lake and bighorn mountains. It is spectacular.

On our first day at the site several anglers warned us a cow moose was laying near the creek. We didn't see it, but the next day the moose visited the site next to us to munch on some shrubbery. Spent a half hour just calmly grazing at the campground before moving on.

Campground host very welcoming, great layout. Superb campground, will return someday to the big horn forest!

As others have mentioned, the view was terrific. The host was friendly and had good information regarding water level and work being done on the dam. This location doesn’t provide much shelter from high wind, but access to the lake and the ability to sit back and watch the rather serene lake activity make up for it. Nice campground- Doug keeps a tight ship!
