Our stay at Lakeview campsite was so great! Dave is a really friendly and accompanying host. When we arrived, we realized site 11 was right next to the bathroom and the camp host site with zero shade. It’s also in the middle of the driving loop, which wasn’t ideal for camping with young kids. I asked if site 8 was still available as a first come first serve site, and he was so gracious about letting us switch! Site 8 was great. Shady during the late afternoon and has a direct path down to the lake. It’s a little bit of a walk, but honestly perfect when you have young kids and don’t want the water access to be too easy.
The campground was super clean, as were the bathrooms. It was very quiet with the exception of our neighbors generator staring at 6am. We left kayaks and paddle boards lakeside for the weekend (we paddled them over from the boat launch) and had the best time playing on the lake. Our friends stayed in site 10, which is a large double site with a great view. We will definitely return!

Good spot to stay at elevation before our 4 night backpacking trip. It is worth noting the tent pads are made with sharp gravel. I was pretty worried about getting a hole in my tent or air mattress. My friend pitched his tent on the grass. I think compacted dirt would be an improvement.

Excellent campground. Close to great hikes to West Tensleep Falls or East Tensleep Lake. The overlook from the ridge above the lake is amazing too. Nice spot to paddle board.
