About Indian Creek Campground (WY)

Located about eight miles (13 km) south of Mammoth Hot Springs on the road to Norris, Indian Creek Campground—elevation 7,300 feet (2225 m)—sits near the base of the Gallatin Mountains and offers breathtaking views of Electric Peak. The area offers easy access to fishing and hiking. The campground is away from the main road and provides a quieter, more primitive, experience than many other locations.  For reservations at the campgrounds managed by Yellowstone National Park Lodges (Fishing Bridge RV Park, Bridge Bay, Canyon, Madison, and Grant Village campgrounds), please visit the Yellowstone National Park Lodges website.

Very nice and remote location deep in Yellowstone, there is no cell service at all within a 20 minute drive so download maps and stuff

The campground was spacious, had a specific place for the tent.. a gravel platform, and it was clean. The Outhouses though were really stinky. The Campground host was very informative and kind.

No possibility to shower (everywhere in the YS campgrounds). The location was nice and super close to Mammoth Hot Spings and the Grand Prysmatic

The campground is beautiful—quiet, tucked away from the road, and surrounded by wonderful trails that offer a lot of opportunities for exploring the area. The hosts are friendly without being intrusive, and both the sites and the vault toilets are clean. The sites are smaller than those at some other campgrounds, but most still offer a good sense of privacy. The night skies were spectacular thanks to the darkness, which made stargazing a highlight of staying here. Unfortunately, that experience was ruined when a large group checked in and lit up their site with so many lights, lanterns, and flashlights that the glow flooded into nearby sites and completely washed out the night sky. Several members of that same group were inconsiderate with loud voices late into the evening. It was disappointing that the hosts didn’t step in to address these disturbances. Aside from those issues—which were caused by people, not the campground itself—this is a lovely place to stay, and I will definitely return.
