Mammoth Campground offers clean facilities, friendly staff, and a beautiful location near Mammoth Hot Springs, making it an excellent base for exploring Yellowstone. Many reviews highlight the well-maintained bathrooms and accessible water spigots, as well as the stunning views and quiet atmosphere. This campground has a lot of spickets with drinking water, nice bathrooms with flash toilets which as great. Very close to the town and springs.

I was disappointed that the weather forecast was 78 degrees and turned out to be 98 degrees. Didn’t get to see much in the way of animals but overall the park is beautiful. Also not aware of how big the lake was, it was awesome seeing it all.

The view from our campsite was incredible. We loved how quiet the campground was and enjoyed sitting under the stars with a campfire each night. We even had a mule deer interrupt us one night by strolling through our site. I loved listening to and watching the magpies fly around.

Great campsite, much nicer than Canyon (more open, less wooden). No showers though, but that is well known.

Clean bathrooms and good water and plenty of trash cans and bear boxes. The camp host drove by to check quiet time and campsites were very respectful. Thank you!!

Very nice sites and facilities were good. VERY close to the hot springs and fairly close to the Lamar Valley too.

The absolute best park was having a few dozen Elk visit at dusk for two nights, magic!

My review would have been much higher except for one thing. After a great morning/ early afternoon of exploring Yellowstone, we checked in to Mammoth about 2:30 to enjoy the breeze and a quiet afternoon and evening. However, even though there were very few campers in the campground, we found ourselves directly in front of a large fifth wheel trailer whose noisy generator was running (to power his duel AC's) when we got there, and continued until about 7:30. I checked the camp guidelines, and was shocked to see that generators are allowed, basically all day (until 8:00 PM. This is the only campground I think I've ever been to in (National and State Parks) that doesn't limit generator hours to a couple hours in the morning, and late afternoon. This truly ruined for us what would have been a picturesque site with unnecessary noise. If someone wants to run their generator all day, please go to an RV park! (Moving sites was not an option as the campground was fully booked!)
