What Guests Are Saying

Chilatchee Creek is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained campsites, and friendly hosts, particularly Kim, who is noted for her helpfulness. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful views and ample space for privacy, making it a hidden gem for campers. While access involves a mile-long dirt road and cell reception is poor, these factors do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

This review is strictly for upper management that has decided to have one contract company to take care of multiple parks these contractor are coming into a park and only doing the bare amount to get them buy this is a shame I have been going to this park for over 15yrs and it is the most broken down disgrace for a federal park there are grass has not been cut in a year there are broken boat docks that are asking for a law suit (FYI) I repaired one of the docks myself before someone fell in a got ate by a alligator the campsite are nasty and they are not being cleaned out the bath house needs a major cleaning and repainted the fish cleaning stations are not even operating due to neglect the camp sites electrical may or may not work the ice machine is not working and the attendant says no more ice because they are not allowed to handle money so you have to drive 10 miles just for ice this complete trip was a joke the place is beautiful the decision for the way repairs and maintenance are completely a joke if someone don’t change the way of services this park will be closed down in about 2 years there should be one crew to each park and 2people could make a crew easily but for now they hit the high spots and gone to the next park it’s very obvious that these people are there only for a check because no tender love and care has been applied for a while

Tent camping with my three children at site #18. Entire area was well maintained with a clean bathhouse. (Even my teenager commented on how clean the bathroom was.) Beautiful view of the lake. We were able to enjoy canoing with few other boats on the water. Several others were camping but everyone was polite and considerate of others. Adding to our list of regular camping spots!

The biggest thing is the road to drive into the park. Even though it’s partly clay it’s still no wider than a 3 trail road. I’m not sure what you’re suppose to do if the meet someone either coming in or going out. Dave, the gate keeper, is a very nice man. And once you start talking to him he’s very friendly. I enjoyed his little dog ,Buddy. You know Dave’s making his rounds when you hear Buddy barking. Chilatchee Creek is a pretty park but until they fix the road we won’t be coming back.
