What Guests Are Saying
Bluff Creek Campground receives high praise for its friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and beautiful natural surroundings, including the frequent sighting of deer. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the convenience of boat access, although some express concerns about noise from a nearby paper mill and the need for improved maintenance, especially regarding the boat ramp and site cleanliness. Overall, guests find it a great spot for camping, with a desire for more amenities and better access to the water.

If you go during a week day, the paper mill nearby will be running and it’s fairly loud. Good thing is, it’s fairly monotonous in sound kind of like white noise so it didn’t disturb my sleep (we tent camp).
Sadly, upon arrival to this campground, the elderly man who seems to run the front gate was not the most pleasant person. He did seem somewhat friendly at first but a bit strange…he also told me that he would not allow me the two sites that I booked and paid for, that there needs to be a separate vehicle for it, which I told him our friends were shortly behind us that would be staying there. Luckily, that got sorted and was fine.
The man also informed us that there was a no burn notice that had just been put into effect a day or so prior to our arrival by the governor due to a drought…so we were unable to have a campfire (huge bummer). But funny thing is, it rained every single day we were there until the day we left (we stayed Thursday-Monday) AND our neighbor who appeared towards the end of our stay was burning campfires constantly and was never spoken to about it…and it was odd how that man who worked here would drive by constantly on his loud golf cart that sounded like a lawn mower or a ATV, except when these people were burning a fire?! Like really?! Idk, it was all just frustrating, some of which couldn’t have been helped, I know.
Our sites were indeed beautiful and had a gorgeous view when not so gloomy due to the weather. There is electric hookups if needed. Bathrooms around our sites were fairly clean and nice for a campground.
**Also, they do NOT operate on the correct time zone they are located in & promptly shut & lock the gates @ 10pm…which if you are anywhere in the area, all phones, clocks, etc, were saying it was 9pm…so we got locked out one night after going to the store for some food a little after 9pm. But they operate on EST apparently. So that was extremely frustrating.**

Be prepared for the 24/7 noise from the paper plant. To get an idea f the sounds, you could film an alien invasion film there and use the background sounds (just add special effects).

Great campground. Our tent site was on the river. It was spacious and had a great view. Highly recommend.

Campground host was very friendly. Internet service is nearly non-existent. Site was fairly level. Dump station has no water hookup for tank cleaning!!! We have stayed here before.

The sound and smell is enough to make you sick. Absolutely disgusting. Over half the camp sites are closed unless you know the folks running it. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone and those fumes from that paper mill can't be good for anyone's health

Campsite 33 was clean and quiet. It is waterfront, but the water was murky, there was a slight slope, and it's more suitable for fishing than for swimming or even kayak. Campsite 35 was very close to 33 so there is little privacy. The fire ring, picnic table and grill are ~15 yrds from the water which is a bummer because what's better than sitting by the water with a bonfire. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restrooms with a shower were a short drive away and they were clean and maintained as were the dumpsters (which were hidden from view).

Absolutely NO Issues. Spot was great. Staff was great. Bath House was great. Quiet, clean, 100% will go back if I am going to be in the area.
