What Guests Are Saying
Quartz Creek Campground is highly praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities. Many reviewers appreciate the spacious sites, friendly camp hosts, and access to Kenai Lake and nearby activities. However, there are concerns about the reservation system being too restrictive, making it difficult for locals to secure last-minute spots, as many reserved sites often remain empty.

This reservation system must change! I wanted a waterfront space and reservation system has them all blocked up with FF. These could have all been open for people wanting to reserve them once they opened up. Put an “A” for available on the website so others can reserve. When we arrived the waterfront FF space wasn’t taken and I asked the host if we could move to it and he said I’d have to pay again is all. We were already set up in our tight spot near the toilets and didn’t want to pay again. If this spot had been made available some lucky person could have reserved it and enjoyed an amazing sunny Sunday and Monday…but it was left EMPTY!!
NO more first come first serve. Who’s going to drive 250 miles only to “try” to get those FF spots they see on the calender after hauling the gear and kids down? They are not. This is an absolute waste of great camping and extremely frustrating for us Alaskans fighting for these spots that clearly the tour companies are holding onto for their RV clients. Thank you.

Great location with access to Kenai lake. The campsite was large and plenty of room for camping tent and screened tent. Campgrounds and bathroom were very clean. We will definitely be coming back to this campground in the future.
