Camp host was super nice and helpful. Sites were beautifully treed and spacious. Pit toilets were composting variety and very clean. No T-Mobile service, but was just a short drive down the graded fire road just outside the campground. Much prettier campground than Mingus just across the highway. However, Mingus has excellent cell reception for all providers. The only issue was noise. A large family a few sites away had children that preferred to scream instead of play, and they had their music loud enough so everyone in Loop A could hear it. Unfortunately the camp host could not hear it from her site near Loop B, or she said she would have told them to quiet down. She said we should have come told her, but nobody really wants to be put in the position to be the camp Karen. She did speak to them that morning and the music was better, but no attempt was made by the parents to stop the screaming children. Can’t really hold that against the campground, just our bad luck. Beautiful campground, but glad to be moving on under the circumstances.

What a wonderful campground. Hiking close by, views were amazing. Spent an evening enjoying Jerome. Only thing missing were camp hosts. Not once did they check in with us which is very unusual. Site was clean and restrooms were very nice no odor. Pads for tent small but open flat ground was available to put larger tent. Overall we had a great time and would come back.

It is always a pleasure to camp in this campground & the reason it is a pleasure is having Ken & Doris as camp hosts. They take their job seriously & you know when they are working, the bathrooms & grounds are always clean. They will be missed!!!

VERY busy on weekends probably because the price is cheap. The campground is in a great location, lots of sightseeing around it.
You can reserve only a certain amount of spots, rest were first come first serve (FF)
The standard non-electric sites are spread out nice. They are paved, basically level, picnic table, fire pit and stand alone BBQ grill. The hookup sites are the typical crowded-close to each other- mostly pavement campground.
The road is a classic twisty mountain road, 30mph and steep....
NOTE: if you are driving a motorhome or towing-- DO NOT TAKE AZ-89A SOUTH through JEROME. go around to dewey-humbolt and connect with AZ-89aNORTH
