The camp site was exceptional. The concessionaire does a great job keeping the campground and restrooms clean.
One of our favorite spots!

A wonderful surprise. Beautiful rock formations, nice campground, about 35 miles from the nearest town, what’s not to like? Just gas up your vehicle and bring enough food. Burn bans usually in place, but butane gas was ok. Lee, the camp volunteer, was super helpful and very welcoming.

This is a great campground. The back in spaces are superb. Hosts are top notch / friendly. Bathrooms clean. Campsites clean.
The pull through sites are barely off the road make it difficult to use the side of a trailer that is on the street side. We stayed there about a week prior to this reservation as FCFS and had to use a pull through space and use the outdoor shower on the road side. It was a little odd when people walked or drove by.
We visited the Wupatki National Monument. It was amazing. We did not explore the volcano park other than driving through. It was a timing thing.

Nicely spaced, paved campsites that are mostly level. Potable water spigots are available at the restrooms but no spigots to fill RV tanks. These are all dry camp sites with no hookups. Tent camping is available.
The campground is located within a grove of ponderosa pines and is one of the cleanest campgrounds we’ve ever been to. Everything from the fire pits to grills are spotless. The restrooms are equally clean and surpass any truck stop restroom.
The hosts, Frank and Sandy were exceptional. Friendly, extremely helpful and always cruising the park keeping things organized like a well tuned machine.
The pull through sites are narrow. They’re fine if your rig doesn’t have slides but staying on the pavement without sending your slides into traffic can be difficult.
$34 a night for dry camping and no RV Dump leans a little to the high side but the quiet cleanliness of this place closes the gap. In fact, we stayed an extra day because it was so nice and yes, we’d stay here again!
