The sites are huge, the bathroom was clean, paved roads right to the campground, very close to the petroglyphs, dumpsters for your trash as you exit. It was a great place to visit. Put it on your list...its on mine! 😁

Great little campsite! It is adjacent to the petroglyph rock pile, the viewing of which is better in the evening than morning (more historical carvings on the west side, more graffiti on the east), so the sun isn't in your eyes. Unless I was looking to read and relax, I wouldn't stay more than one night, as there aren't trails and such. But it is a must see if you are in the area!

Great little campsite! Unless I was looking to read and relax, I wouldn't stay more than one night, as there aren't trails and such. But it is a must see if you are in the area!

Beautiful stop on the way to Tucson. The nights were quiet and dark. Lots of stars. Petroglyphs provided changing views in different light. A very spiritual place.

Wonderful, quiet camping in remote area not far off Hwy 8. The petroglyphs were excellent to read about and observe. Site and pit toilets were exceptionally clean.

Exit Interstate 8 at Painted Rock Dam Road/Exit 102, about 12.5 miles west of Gila Bend. Travel north on Painted Rocks Dam Road 10.7 miles to Rocky Point Road. Painted Rocks Petroglyph Site is 0.6 miles west of Painted Rock Dam Road on Rocky Point Road.
The campground is accessible via Interstate 8, with the nearest exit being Painted Rock Dam Road/Exit 102, approximately 12.5 miles east of the campground.
