Beautiful campground right on the river. Glassed desert bighorns in the surrounding mountains. Quick access to exploring St. George

This location is very scenic, reasonably priced and has many hiking and river activities nearby. But it has a few drawbacks.
In the upper loop I found no usable cell service (Verizon) but did find slow service in the lower loop, where I moved to. Second, after I found the toilet in the men’s room plugged up, and decided I should report it, I found the host in the upper loop barricaded behind a tall chain link fence with warning signs about dogs. Indeed, as I walked past 2 large dogs came charging, barking and lunging at the fence. So I left reporting nothing. How can this be your public facing representative? I previously reported my experience but have heard no response.

We were at the campground for a week. Weather was beautiful. Needed blankets at night but it was February. If it wasn't a 500 mile drive, we'd go more often. It would be nice to have a dump station but for us and anyone used to dry camping on BLM land, that's not an issue. We usually wait until we're at an RV Park and dump when we get there. Otherwise we find a facility that has a dump station. Some of the site are challenging for larger RVs since it's difficult to get them level. We found one site that was almost perfect and the view was outstanding.

Beautiful country! Stayed in the lower campground. Highway traffic did not bother us at all and we had very good Verizon phone service! Bathrooms were clean and warm. Thank you for providing a very nice, quiet, safe camping area!

Excellent stop over. Better view sites are reservation only. There really isn’t a bad campsite view.
