What Guests Are Saying
Ponderosa Campground is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and spacious, well-maintained sites, making it a favorite for many campers. Families enjoyed the layout of Group Site E, and amenities like clean bathrooms and convenient trash disposal were highlighted positively. However, concerns were raised about tree removal plans affecting the campground's appeal and some noise disturbances from nearby highways and other campers.

Very nice campground. The A loop is near the main road, so expect a lot of car noise, we just bring ear plugs. There is a bit of a hike to lay your tent down, and it's uphill, so if you have a lot of gear this might be a pain, though no one is right on top of you, you don't have to hear other peoples conversations which is nice. Bathrooms are ok, vault toilets. Camp hosts were nice.

The campground was beautiful, lots of tall pine trees. There were a lot of mosquitoes when we went, so bring your repellent! The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful.

This was our first visit to Ponderosa campground and we are so happy we chose it! The location is close to Payson and 20 minutes from Woods Canyon Lake. We checked out the surrounding campgrounds to compare, and Ponderosa is by far the most beautiful and has the most privately spaced sites. We kayaked and picniced on the lake and had a nice campfire back at our campsite. There are no electric or water amenities at the campsite, but there are clean toilets and drinking water close by. We will be back to see the fall colors!

This past weekend our family and friends truly enjoyed our stay at PONDEROSA (AZ) camp ground. Beth was so helpful and made our experience amazing! Beth was very informed and anytime we had a question she made herself available. Will definitely be returning. I want to emphasize that Beth went above and beyond to make that experience possible. The camp ground was very clean and beautiful! Thank you.

Host (Beth) was very nice and courteous. Too bad this is the last year she will be there.
This was the second time this year we camped at Ponderosa Campground.

Was our first trip to Ponderosa, Camp host Beth was a super host she helped me the first night I arrived with getting into the correct spot without having to move after 1 night . She was great to my entire family that included a total of 5 Rvs. She definitely became part of our family not only the days we were there but for more to come .
