We had a wonderful stay! Our spot was perfect for our needs. The scenery at White Spar was beautiful! There were some trails we were able to walk and for the most part the camp spots were adequately spaced apart. We loved that it was close enough to town to pick up supplies that we may have forgotten or go out to have a nice meal. It was relatively close to Courthouse Square in Prescott which is a really beautiful area of town. The only con was that it was a little too close to a busy road and the time we were there there were a lot of motorcycles with loud mufflers running up and down that road, which is the only reason I rated this at four stars instead of five, but the nights were quiet. Other than that this was a terrific campground and we will definitely be going back for many years!

Great campground close to Prescott yet still provided the camping experience we all want. Great sites, very quiet, and the stars at night were just incredible. Great hiking/biking trails right from the campground as well. We would certainly come here again.

As someone who has stayed at this campground several times I am in full appreciation of the new host. Finally someone who pays attention to what is going on in the campground. He is friendly and helpful as well. Things seem to be taken care of there.
This is a beautiful treed area with old growth oaks and many tall pines. Lots of deer and birds. I even saw blue birds last time there.
The down side is the road noise. Every jerk on a motorbike goes screaming down that road like it is a necessity. How rude!
You still have to really choose your site carefully if you rely on solar. Most of the sites are far to shady. 6 is good. So is 3. The forest service should rethink where the tent spots are. Tents should have the shady areas - EG site 3.
And the forest service really needs to fix the bathrooms. Although they have obviously been cleaned, and deodorant stickups added, the pit toilets smell so bad! I can barely use the bathrooms at all. They should be more like the toilets at Yavapai campground - the recycling toilets - at least the smell in those is outside instead of inside.

The only bad thing about this site is the location for the tent. It was on a slope. When we would get into our sleeping bags, we would slide down. Other than that it was the perfect size for a small group.

Had never heard of White Spar but it was very good. So close to Prescott Whiskey Row and so put in the country too. We had our Side by Side and we found nice Forrest off roading close.
Young lady camp hostess Macie went above and beyond to help us find a spit that was inaccurate from rec.gov website. Very good 4 days will go back.

FILTHY RESTROOMS!!! We have camped at a lot of pit toilet campsites over the past few years and are almost universally pleased with how well they are maintained and how well they function. These pit toilets were the worst we have ever seen and had no sign of ever being cleaned. Bring your own cleaning supplies and be prepared to spend a few minutes cleaning off dried human waste so that you are not sitting on dried you know what. The large black trash bags left inside for unknown reason possibly attracted the mouse that ran past me when I opened the door. Campsite #30 itself was OK but had a 90 degree drive in angle which made backing in a small pop up camper more difficult than normal.
