I absolutely love this horse camp. It is my home away from home.
Many trails to explore or just sit around enjoying the peace and quiet of the woods.

Groom Creek horsecamp is the best area to camp in and only two hours from Wickenburg. I love camping in the trees. Trails are mainly dirt without many rocks except in a few areas. The only bad thing is getting rained out twice this year. Main problem is a leak in my trailer roof. Having corrals set up is the best. Close to downtown Prescott if you want to go out to eat or visit their wonderful museums.

site would have been much nicer if the previous campers had cleaned the stall. we expect to find some road apples, but there is plenty of cleanup tools and dumpsters. no reason to leave your pony's mess for the next pony to stand in. lazy.

Joe and Nancy are amazing camp hosts. They are friendly and caring.
My only “complaint” is the bathrooms smell.

We absolutely love going to Groom Creek. We live in Cave Creek, and have been going there for years. Our experience two years ago with the camp host Joe was horrible. There was a shooting and he refused to come out and assist for our safety. We called the sheriff they came out along with the Ranger, and it was one of the attending guest at one of the sites. He was nothing but rude and unhelpful. We did not return until just two weeks ago and had another poor experience with him. He is incredibly rude, not helpful and quite honestly we probably won’t return and will continue to go up to Little Eldon in Flagstaff until a new host is put in place there.
