Site 1 was quieter than I expected. The large boulders blocked site 21 generator noise. Not a lot of shade in the morning hours but later in the day the one pine tree provides adequate shade. My rig set up is 13ft trailer with standard SUV, and it fit nicely in the site. Site 1 might be a challenge for anything over 16ft.

Still my favorite recreation.gov campground!
Friendly hosts. Nice clean facilities. Tasty water! And trash removal.
The sites are spread out better than most place. You still get some privacy. Some sites are very shady. Some are not.
And it's very close to town.
I will continue to camp here and recommend the place!

I purchased online a 2-night pass for a designated campsite. However, the campsite I really wanted was first come, first serve. Sure enough, when I got there, the campsite I wanted was available. So, I asked the host if we could switch the prepaid campsite for the first come first serve site. The answer was "no." I had to cancel the original prepaid 2-nights, which I did not even get a $8 refund as mentioned on the rec.gov website because there was a "system error." Furthermore, I needed to rush to pay now cash for the new campsite I selected since it was first come first serve. In hindsight, I spent $72 + online fees for 2-nights of camping, and no help from a ranger or a host. Let's just say, I'll stick to dispersed camping before using the rec.gov website for future bookings.

Our spot was spotless with a beautiful view!
The bathrooms were kept up clean by the camp host. And we’re close enough to town to enjoy downtown Prescott!
