As so many have said this was a quiet spot and even with the camp host nearby we felt privacy. There were fire ants as someone stated before, but fortunately not on the tent pad and only one hill near parking slip. Everything was perfect and clean. This campsite was quiet, immaculate and the bathroom lights were censored so no need to fuss with a light both approaching the restroom and inside. We will definitely camp here again!

The campsites are well maintained and the bathroom was spotless - very rare for a public campsite bathroom. The campers (patrons) staying at the campsite were respectful to the quite hours. My wife and I enjoyed 4 days of boon-docking at the site and will return.

Primitive, but.
I like the composting toilet because there is no offensive smell in there due to proper ventilation. There is a convenient water pump too to get drinking water when you need it. The campsites are all level and sit relatively high throughout this location. It rained a great deal due to the strong monsoon season we are having this year. Despite that, the campsite (# 15) drained very well so my tent never flooded. The only missing amenity is a working shower. If it had that - I would rate this site as 5 stars.

It was my first time camping in a national forest and the experience was lovely. The sites are spread out enough that while we caught glimpses of our neighbors, we didn't have to feel like we were sharing our entire weekend with them. Quiet hours were respected and I enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the cicadas. The toilets were well maintained and only on one visit—just before bed Saturday night—did I notice any smell, but it was gone by the next morning, We did struggle to find level areas of shade at our site, and spoke to some neighbors who had the same problem. I would recommend bringing an extra tarp to create your own shade. Mosquitos were a bit heavy (it being monsoon season), so we ended up using our repellent up halfway through the weekend and having to buy more. The campground is only 5 miles away from Walmart, but feels secluded and away from it all.
