What Guests Are Saying
Yavapai Campground is a clean, quiet, and well-maintained facility with beautiful views and convenient hiking trails nearby. Very unimpressed with campground host. Never saw them leave their campground in three days I was there. Campground sign said it was full yet many sites were unreserved

Nice little campground in all aspects except shade. The hosts however did not impress. They didnβt have their dog tied up and it attacked my wife, and also one of them came up to our campsite I think pretty drunk late at night. It was a little creepy. Never had that kind of experience with campground hosts before.

I reserved my space with RECREATION.gov and had a great time camping in the forest. All the campground sites are beautiful. Site #10 just fit my rig and has a large flat area behind the parking spot big enough for a tent and then surrounded with bushes and trees. #001 was better. A larger area for my rig, a large flat area for a tent, then big big boulders that you can walk around and more trees and bushes, just beautiful. At both sites I didnβt have a strong phone connection but was able to connect for a quick conversation; other areas in the park I had no problem with internet or phone connection.

When we made reservations Friday and Saturday were shown as first come first serve so had planned on staying in the same site but when we got there it was reserved so we had no where to stay since all sites were booked

From downtown Prescott, take Montezuma Street north to Whipple Street, which becomes Iron Springs Road. Continue northwest on Iron Springs Road for 3.5 miles and then turn right onto Granite Basin Road (FSR 374). Travel 2 miles to Yavapai Campground located on the left.
Yavapai Campground is accessible via Iron Springs Road, which connects to major roads in the Prescott area. The nearest major highway is AZ-89, approximately 10 miles to the east.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- A campsite must have at least one person present the first night and equipment cannot be left unattended for more than 24 hours.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Safety & rules
- You can stay for a maximum of 14 days within any 30-day period.
- Swimming and wading in Granite Basin Lake are prohibited.
- Only electric motors and manual-powered boats are allowed.
Fires & fuel
- Fires are allowed only in designated areas and with specified materials.
- Fireworks are not allowed anywhere on National Forest Lands.
- Fire restrictions may apply in dry conditions, potentially prohibiting smoking and campfires.
- Obtain firewood locally to prevent pest spread; do not transport firewood.
Utilities
- Water and restrooms are available at the campground.
- There is no RV dump station available.
Site capacity
- Single campsites accommodate up to 5 people, while double campsites can accommodate up to 10 people.
Vehicles & parking
- Single campsites allow 2 vehicles; double campsites allow 4. Fees apply for additional vehicles.
- Not all campsites can accommodate vehicles up to 40 feet long; measure your vehicle to be sure.
Site types & loops
- Campsites 3 and 4 allow trailers up to 15 feet or RVs up to 25 feet; campsite 10 allows trailers up to 10 feet or RVs up to 25 feet.
Pets
- Pets are allowed but must be leashed or caged and cannot be left unattended.
