Cave Springs is one of my favorite campgrounds for its location and relaxed vibe. Highly recommend travelling during the fall season to see the beautiful oak trees change colors in mid-late october.

Nice and pretty campground. Staff was nice and helpful and did a great job cleaning up individual sites after campers checked out. Pit toilets; no sink; no sanitizer. Small store at the entrance with firewood and some necessities.

I grew up in the northwest and have some great memories camping with my family as a kid. Now an Arizona resident and father, I always hoped to build those same camping memories with my own family. My daughters are 8 and 10 now so we decided fall break would be a great time to expose them to new traditions. I’m home now after 3 days at Cave springs I don’t think I could have asked for anything more. It was perfect.
-The sites are all very clean and diligently cleaned by an attendant right after checkout
-the septic style bathrooms are cleaned daily
-all staff were wonderful and friendly
-LTE signal was strangely perfect and we had internet everywhere to keep my 8 year old busy in down times
-the fishing was plentiful and my 10 year old caught her first fish ever this weekend.
-the entrance fee station has a small store attached for necessities. Firewood is $7 a bundle.
- .gov registering only allows 1 car but you can park a second for $10. Wish we had known that ahead of time.
Overall, I have zero complaints and am hoping to book again as soon as it reopens this spring

Heavily used campground, no hookups, several water locations, well staffed, roads in great need of repair.

It is a well-run campground. In a fantastically beautiful area. The campsites are close together, so part of the experience is living close to complete strangers. How friendly or noisy are they? It is easy to walk 5 minutes to get to places of great solitude.

Host is delightful and treats you like a guest at her b&b! Trees are gorgeous with shade and a river. Beautiful spot in a gorgeous canyon. Close to Sedona for dinner. Clean too except the showers are old (warm though). Nice spot!

I really liked this campground. The staff were really nice, beautiful location, the sites are well kept. There is swimming hole within walking distance, and it's very relaxing. The small store has a good supply of items you may need and they have hot showers too. Will be back for sure!

Easy to locate campsite and very clean well taken care of campground . Nice area for tent setup, great fire ring and picnic table. Great location close to West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon trail.

Beautiful place, but we could not get our 24ft fifth wheel into a space the website said could accommodate a 30 ft RV! No way, maybe a pop up trailer! There was a clear height obstruction for taller fifth wheels and RV’s that should be noted on the website If we could have seen the campground map we were given upon check in, I would not have chosen this space due to the sharp angle of the approach to the parking spot. I reserved the spot way in advance, close to the river, as I cannot walk far. Campground hosts were not very helpful, except to give us a site no one wanted. When we told them we couldn’t fit, they immediately gave our reserved space away! No help at all! We were still parked in the next space over trying to figure out if we could approach the space differently, and someone came up and said they just purchased that space. Also, campground is very run down. Parking spaces are far from level, roads full of potholes, bathrooms are filthy. Also on our second day, we were surrounded by a very large group of middle school children (6 spaces) The problem was a group that large should only be permitted to camp in the group area, kids were respectful but still kids and should have had their own area. Not their fault, website shouldn’t allow it. We were also not told when we were moved that a large group was coming. We were also not given the option of getting our money back, even though they re-rented the space!. We would have left and camped near Flagstaff. Don’t think I will ever camp here again, it was a truly horrible experience! Rangers were awesome and helpful, but the reservations are contracted out, so they can’t help with any problems with campsites. Recreation.gov is doing a super poor job. Beware of the misleading pictures on their website, the one we couldn’t get into looked HUGE in the photo and on the map!!! Go to an AZ state park campground instead, they are clean and well maintained!
