About Manzanita.

Manzanita Campground is a small, year-round, tent-only facility with campsites that fill up very quickly. Visitors enjoy the campground for its fishing and swimming holes along Oak Creek, beautiful scenery and excellent wildlife watching. Oak Creek Canyon is very crowded, especially on weekends; to get a campsite, it is best to reserve a weekday.

Had a good time, but the host was a little unaged and grumpy but other than that everything went well.

This campground is a great spot. It is quiet, next to water stream and relaxing. Close enough to the city center to grab supplies when needed and explore.

My site was site number 7 and it was directly in front of the restrooms and the garbage bins. It smelled horrible. Manzanita is a nice campground, and it was great to be near the creek. It was also near the highway, but the car noise did not bother me. Also, there are very few sites, so if you would like to get a site, you probably need to make your reservation very early. Definitely stay away from site number seven though because there was a constant disgusting smell. Manzanita is nice because it is so closely located to the town of Sedona. While we were in Sedona, we went hiking to Chicken Point. The campsite had a nice fire ring and a picnic table.

Manzanita is great camp site near the river you’ll have the advantage of walking distance with great spots to relax and have some fun. I won’t recommend space 6 or 7 since they are very close to the restrooms.
It’s very Close to slide rock ( 5 min drive) and to town ( 15 min drive )
Staff was helpful and friendly, we would have like to be able to listen to some music ( not an amplified) but just as a background but is not allowed.

It’s a beautiful place and my second time there.
However this time around led me to decide to never come back.
First of all the rating for level 2 was instated the day we arrived. So we had no pre warning and came with firewood. Also the official rule for level 2 does not apply to a campground that has all of the standard facilities. So that was frustrating. To make matters worse it rained the whole night.
But what really made our experience forgettable was the β€œKaren” that harassed us two days in a row about playing live music. When we checked in they told us no amplified music but live music ( guitar, jimbai, tambourine, singing ) is ok.

The lady working there had a very unfriendly attitude and clearly showed she didn’t like us.

Not the right people who should be running a campground

Camp Hosts, Korey, his wife Anna and Kim, another camp host made my first experience camping in Manzanita a pleasure πŸ˜πŸ•
My rental car needed a jump start, Korey came to the rescue even when he was "off duty" !
I stayed in #12 . Oak Creek was right next to my campsite. Bathrooms were always clean πŸ‘
Follow the "Creek trail" to a pool area. Bring your floaties! It's refreshing, the pool. 6/16-20/24 was my stay.πŸ•πŸ€ πŸ˜ I'm going to return ASAP!!!
