The campground isn't very big, so the sites are close together and don't provide much privacy if you're in a tent. That can't be helped, I guess. I did enjoy the clean bathrooms and the fact that they weren't brightly illuminated from the outside, thus spoiling the Dark Sky experience. So bring your flashlights and enjoy.

Campsite #12 was a nice site since it is right near the canyon walls, and near a water spigot. Although the campground was full, it was pretty quiet, except for a few dogs barking during the day. The site and bathrooms were clean and well cared for. We have been to Bonita several times, and it has always been a good experience. There are nice hikes you don't even need to drive to that are along the creek, and up Rhyolite Canyon that connects with higher elevation hikes and rock formations . Note there is not good cell service here.

Excellent campground. We appreciated that there was no fee to enter the National Monument. Bonita Canyon is a small, but tidy, well-organized, and quiet campground. The water sources scattered around the campground worked fine. Sites are spacious and most are very well shaded by trees. Super pleasant place to camp with good hiking trails nearby.
