What Guests Are Saying
Dogtown Lake Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained environment, with clean restrooms and spacious campsites that provide a sense of privacy. The hosts are friendly and attentive, contributing to a positive camping experience. However, some visitors noted the lack of water access and additional fees for extra vehicles, which they felt were not justified given the limited amenities. Overall, it remains a popular spot for fishing and enjoying nature.

The noise of generators from RV campers completely ruined the "in nature" experience and ambiance of this otherwise lovely, clean campground in a wooded, secluded location.

Nice campground with a 2 mile drive on dirt road. Everything was clean and maintained. Firewood sold at host station. Water bibs near restrooms.

We love Dog Town Lake! We stay once or twice every year. We went mid week this year and it was quiet, only maybe 1/2 full. The restrooms are always clean and the hosts pleasant. Can't wait to go back in the fall.

We had reservations for June 21-23. Unfortunately, when we arrived on June 21st, the campground was closed, due to fires. No problem. The very nice host told us it was closed and that our money would be refunded. I went online and we were only refunded for June 22nd. I asked for a refund for June 21st, as we were not able to camp, and was refunded only $1. I am very unhappy that I did not get my full refund.

We used Dogtown Lake Campground as a base for visiting Grand Canyon, Williams, Flagstaff and other sites in Northern Arizona. Dogtown served this purpose well. The campsites are spacious, clean and in most instances are shaded by trees. Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic bench. Additionally, level areas for tents are found in the campsite. As we pulled a camper, we booked a drive-through campsite. This was helpful.
The camping is dry (no water or electricity). However, potable water is available at each of the outhouses and garbage can be disposed at a designated garbage collection point. The road(s) into Dogtown are graded dirt roads - with many 'washboard' sections. I recommend using the road south of Williams (as you spend less time traveling on the dirt road).
The lake is pristine (although no swimming is allowed), the morning mountain air was intoxicating and the stars at night are close enough to touch. The camp hosts are friendly, kept the outhouses clean and made us feel very welcome.

Great little campground. My kids love being next to the lake. It was crowded either.

It is a beautiful campsite, great staff who helped make sure we were all set and felt safe, and just the right amount of space. The one thing that could have made this campground perfect was if it had showers so a longer stay could be possible.
