What Guests Are Saying
Choctaw offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with clean facilities and friendly staff, making it a pleasant spot for camping. Many guests appreciate the spacious campsites and scenic views, particularly in D-Section, and highlight the attentive service from staff like Ms. Jeannie. However, some reviews mention issues with bathroom cleanliness and a lack of water hookups at the sites, which detracted from their overall experience.

Choctaw is our favorite place to camp. Wish they had water at sites.

This park is one of the most beautiful and well maintained parks we’ve camped. We gladly make the drive from Texas to camp at this park. The only thing that would make this park better is water hookups at the individual sites.

We camp frequently at this park (6-7 times per year). Attendants are exceptionally nice and rangers are easy to get along with. Park is clean with reasonable sized camping sites.
COE has made recent upgrades to 50amp service at some sites which is appreciated.
Possible improvements:
Add water to sites (start with 50amp sites)
Remove STOP sign at dump station (it’s in the way of large RVs turning out to leave campground and really no reason for a sign at that location).
Make dump station double sided so two campers at a time can use it. The dump station gets heavy traffic during peak season departures (IE:Sunday mornings).
Consider repurposing at least part of the E section sites from tent camping to RV use. Very few tent campers at this park but it is often 100% capacity with RVs.
Continue to mitigate buzzard population (buzzards have damaged many RVs at this park).
Thank you for continuing to improve this park!
