We stayed in site 58. Great site but the park or corp needs to trim branches at the back of the site as they rubbed our camper and scratched it. It was level and clean. We didn’t use the facilities

Tried to change my campground from hickory creek to horseshoe bend where my friends we were. The recreation gov system would not let me edit and I was not allowed to use my park pass when I paid for the campground I actually needed to be in. I never camped at hickory creek.

Site 38 is junk. Unlevel parking spot. Steps to get into camper where over knee high once we got set up. The picnic table is up on a hill, below that is the parking spot. Don’t miss your step coming out of the camper or you’ll roll down a much larger hill on the other side of the parking spot. Not enough room at this cramped site. The circle drive at the end of this loop is way too small. With it being a holiday weekend, there were many cars parked partially in the grass. This made it very hard to get to our site. This site nearly shares the asphalt to another site. I guess if you jackknife really good, you’ll be ok there. Grass was way overgrown. Bath house ceiling/roof rotten/ falling in. Poor signage at front of park. Large signs showing site numbers as you travel along would be nice.

The only issue was the water was turned off when we checked out. No water at dump station. The campground was great.

We love Hickory Creek Park and have stayed there many times.
This time though, when we arrived at 5pm, someone was still in our spot! We had somewhere that we had to be so couldn’t wait for them to get back.
The camp host was wonderful and let us drop our camper near the gate while they tried to find the negligent person.
The camp host finally contacted the person and had them move, but we had to set up camp at 10pm in the dark!
Please, be respectful of others; read the rules and obey them!!!!
Kudos to the camp hosts!! They were super sweet and tried diligently to make right!
