Absolutely amazing time the people running it were very friendly had no problems the restrooms and showers were clean

Rented the group site for family reunion. Huge covered pavilion right on the shore with playground very close vault toilets enough room for thirty people

We had our daughter’s birthday party and it was such a great spot for a kid filled birthday and everyone had the best time.

Due to the change in the Pine Loop exit, we can no longer access that camping loop. The new exit back into the Pine Loop is congested and very tight with cars, trees and the electric supply box.

Please reopen the pine Loop exit back into the large boat parking lot. Make the pine loop accessible to RVs of all sizes!

1. Nowhere close to use the restroom for handicap.
2. Leash rule was NOT followed by our close campers.
3. The "Quiet time" rule was NOT followed at all. We were up until 1am both nights we stayed and even told a park ranger about it, but they stayed up even later the next night. Therefore it wasn't relaxing or calming in anyway.
This was the weekend of my husband's and my anniversary and I can honestly say it was a very poor experience. I hope that in the future you can find a way for bathrooms for each group of campsites so that the disabled don't have to walk literally over a mile to use the restroom. I also hope that in the future the leash rule and quiet rule are actually enforced. Overall I'm really disappointed.

Beware of the campsite map
For our yearly family camping trip we booked 5 campsites six months ago. I booked one of our favorite campsites (second camp from boat ramp). According to the website map, that site was number 57 and it had the picture of it as well. Well when we got to Hickory Creek, the campsite second from the ramp was 58. The map on reserve.gov was wrong!!! Sites 57 and 58 were switched. The gatehouse person told us to set up on the one we booked (second from the ramp)- she said no big deal. So we set up on that site- which ended up being 58 but it was second from the ramp. An elderly couple came in and threw a fit because the gatehouse told us to set up on 58. We ended up moving to site 57. Which was okay. The only thing that made us mad was the gatehouse person telling us to set up on 58 since we booked the site second from the ramp, and then the elderly man was so hateful about it. We talked to the ranger about the gatehouse setting us up on that site and the map being wrong. She even told us that the post number on those sites was wrong. They are suppose to correct the map. Double check what you’re booking!

Our stay at Hickory Creek was satisfactory. We fished and swam in the lake. We stayed 10 days having to move 3 times due to only online reservations available (most sites booked for weekends only). We did not see a gate attendant or park ranger the first four days of our stay. Weekends are very busy, staying during the week allows you to have most of the campground to yourself. Avoid site 41, it is a buzzard feeding/roosting area, and they will get into your firepit and trash. Avoid site 39, it has limited parking and the table is on the wrong side of the site. We recommend site 40. We have been visiting Beaver Lake for over 40 years; we will continue to visit in the future.
