It was rainy drab and cold. Had a great tine. It was clean and as expected. No problems. Going back soon.

The only "RV" spot available at Hickory Creek was spot #37 for the three nights we were at Beaver Lake. This site is dangerously steep and shouldn't be be listed as a camping spot, RV or tent! It's impossible to level the RV, and once it is parked (we pulled into the spot instead of backing in) the distance to step from the RV down to the ground is too far. For the second night we moved to site #45 and thoroughly enjoyed it, but nothing except spot #37 was available so we moved to a private RV park.

Please permit me to mention something special that happened at Hickory Creek. I am disabled and the bookings for the 2 weekends that were available on recreation.gov literally opened my motorhome door onto a steep hill. This is very - very - dangerous for someone in my condition. I would have fallen dozens of times if I had stayed on those sites. The Ranger , whose name is Tim, coordinated with the host, whose name is Katie, and somehow the moment a cancellation occurred on a flat site , Katie jumped on it and switched me from the dangerous sites to flat. This happened two weekends in a row during m short stay. Weekends are very hard to select good camp sites because the parks are so crowded.

It's a beautiful park and I enjoyed my stay. The newer lady that is running it though is not very pleasant.

Beautiful first time for me and my kids. Great memories in the making. Will definitely camp there many more times.

One shower house for so many campsites is disgusting. It was filthy. The Corps should be ashamed of itself. This was our fist and last time at Hickory Creek.
