Hickory Creek is a great park and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We were on site 24 and heavy rains created flooding while we were there which resulted in us leaving 2 days early. The Camp Host and Rangers worked closely with us kept us updated to when we would have to leave. Their early notification gave us ample time to find another campground to go to so we could continue our vacation. Our money for the early departure was returned quickly.
I would recommend new shower's as the one they have is quite dated, however is kept clean.

WE made a reservation through the official channels (recreation.gov) and the person who made the reservation for space 37 apparently did not know that it is virtually impossible to get a trailer our size into that spot and that the spot is not level. The person who checked us in informed us that this was the case and gave us a better spot for one night and told us to check in the next day to see if something opened up for the second night. Despite the fact that the guy was very nice and working with us, we elected to cut the stay to one night. He could have just checked us in and told us to work it out with space # 37 and, after looking at # 37, we sincerely appreciate that he had our best interest at heart by finding us another spot. I could not have gotten our trailer in # 37, or might have incurred damage trying to do so. The person who checked us in said they had tried to get recreation.gov to understand that the site should just be for pop-ups of tents, but the communication is not having an effect. The camp ground is very nice and we would go back, with some knowledge about site selection.

Clean , no camp attendant present till our last day , we were given no camp permit sticker which made me a little uncomfortable when driving to picnic area to fish and worrying if patrols would write a citation for no permit. Other than that a great experience.
