What Guests Are Saying
Cherokee Park is a well-maintained, peaceful campground by the Arkansas River, offering spacious sites and a friendly host. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, opportunities for birdwatching, and enjoyable river views, making it a great spot for family time and relaxation. Some minor issues include the need for grass cutting, bathroom updates, and occasional pest concerns, but overall, guests have had positive experiences and highly recommend the park.

The playground is a hazard to kids playing. There are rotten boards and missing boards that need to be replaced.

The park was clean and spacious. The bathrooms were disgusting so I didn't use them. No check in booth so I wasn't sure who to contact to check in. The roads leading to the park go thru a neighborhood with very narrow streets. I was not comfortable driving through there at all but after that it was fine.

This was the first time we stayed at this park, but we loved it. I hate to give Cherokee a good review, because we want to keep it to ourselves. Just kidding!!! We really Loved it.

Absolutely beautiful. The grandkids were able to a “lock” near the dam and fishing was peaceful. Staff is very friendly, went over the rules of the park, since there is no guard shed. Checked us in on site. Our lot had trees and a huge picnic area. Has a playground, showers and restrooms (never used). Remember to bring life jackets.

We have stayed at Cherokee Park many times before and this time was the biggest disappointment. The people who are supposed to be maintaining the park are NOT doing so at all. The restrooms are literally INFESTED with spiders. No soap at all for washing your hands. And the toilets stayed clogged the entire weekend like no one ever went to check them. The amenities "provided" were 100% not usable. We have been to many core of engineers parks and it's sad to say this one has definitely been forgotten about. Really regret paying to stay here when nothing the park has to offer was usable. Will be contacting to engineers office regarding a refund.
