Wonderful spot during off season camping. Main recommendation, given to me by another camper AFTER I had pulled in and gotten set up, if you are going to use space 19, go in opposite traffic. That will put the electric and water on the passenger side but your trailer/RV access will then be on the same side as the tables and BBQ as well as not having to exit your rig immediately onto the roadway.

Beautiful setting surrounded by woods and the lake. There were several hikes accessible from the campground. Site required leveling blocks. Camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were outdated, but very clean. Verizon cell was very good. Water access at the site was difficult - in the ground. Would have been helpful to have a map at the entrance.

Clean campgrounds and restrooms. Rangers check daily to make sure everything is okay.

Sweet campground with a few distinct camping areas on little peninsulas out into the like. Proximity to the water could not be beat. I love the variety in the shorelines, too. We enjoyed the hike along the West side of the peninsula off of Loop D.
Loop C has a noisy power (?) station in it, so if sensitive to noise, I would avoid that loop.
Site 38 and 48 both worked well for Starlink... but it helped that the trees don't have many leaves in November.

Tompkins Bend is a beautiful campsite. I love the way it is arranged where every camper has waterfront. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and heated which was nice. It was rather cool when we went.
