Site 19 and 20 would be next to impossible for anything longer than a 15 foot trailer. But the full hookups were awesome. We didn’t use the bathrooms or showers, but we saw them being cleaned daily. The small metal garbage cans were emptied every day as well. Our power went out in the camp post was nice enough to come by and inform us that it would be on soon. We drove into hot Springs from our campsite and it was a perfect homebase for our trip. We also tried our hand at finding a diamond in the nearby the diamond crater park. Go into town at Murphreesboro and enjoy a delicious malt at Hawkins variety store. There was one hiking trail that started in the campground, but we didn’t have enough time to go check it out like we had wanted. The lake was beautiful in the fall, which is when we went. We did get infested on our last day with Japanese ladybugs, which are an invasive beetle looking thing that looks like a ladybug but it’s not. our site had full hook ups and it was great. Our site was also not level, but that wasn’t a problem for us. it was only off by a couple of inches so it was easy to fix.

We really enjoyed our trip. Stayed in site#28 and the view was beautiful. The lake was lower than usual but enjoyed walking along the bank and fishing. Only complaint I would have about this area would be the showers, I was taking a shower in the last stall and somebody started the first stall and mine lost its hot water.

We love this park but where do you get the people who work the booth? Their camps are always such DUMPS!

A few of the sites had lots of room for our travel trailer and boat.

This is our third or fourth year here. We will come back again. There is a new host who was super nice. There was a burn ban over the entire state - so no campfires which makes tent camping tougher - and the lake was down quite a bit again this year. Nothing to do with this site - the site is great and I highly recommend it.

Lower loop is very kid/family friends. Sites 4-6 are within eyeline of the very large playground, and are fairly quiet as there are fewer sites in that loop.
The only downside is you have to walk up the hill to the bathrooms. That said, the bathrooms were immaculately clean and climate controlled.
T-Mobile signal was slightly spotty - between 1-3 4G LTE bars - so enough to cruise reddit but not consistent enough for streaming or Zoom.

Cowhide Cove is a quiet and clean campground. The bathhouse was very clean with great hot water. I liked the design, which put the showers in a separate part of the building from the toilets. It kept the humidity down and the floors dry where you want them to be.
Even though the campground was 95% full the nights that we stayed, it still felt peaceful and quiet. The tent only spots (35 and 36) are very close to each other, but apart from the rest of the camp. We didn't hear any generator noise. I'm also glad my family booked both tent spots, otherwise, we would have been a little too close for comfort.
We didn't witness any ranger patrols and even though we know the host was present, they didn't come around to chat. However, when a new camper lit up a toasty campfire (in spite of the burn ban and the very visible banners at the entrance notifying us) the ranger was present in an instant to douse it.
Close to Crater of Diamonds for digging, but not much else. Even with the lake low, the views of the water were still beautiful. We hope to come back when it is not so dry.
