Quiet, wasn't too crowded. Lake adjacent site, very nice scenery. In the morning before sunrise there was a bit of traffic at the boat launch, but I was already awake so it wasn't a bother. Something to keep in mind if that's relevant to you.

This campground is spacious, well maintained, quiet and beautiful! Site is paved and level, setting up was a breeze. Sites F2 and F3 are situated together in a parallel parking setup but there was plenty of room with my 25ft camper and the neighbors 30 ft camper. There are three terraced steps down to the picnic table/fire ring but they are not steep. There is not a BBQ grill. Will need a long water hose to reach the faucet. The bathrooms are not close to the site. The restroom bldg on the B side was clean. The one by the playground was not. Campsite is facing the water - the swimming area and boat ramp. There is a parking area between the site and the water to park extra vehicles and boats to keep an eye on your vehicles.

We have loved staying at Shoal Bay in the past. The last few trips we have noticed things not being taken care of like normal. 2 times now that we have stayed they have had electrical issues. The power kept surging and messed up the air condioner in our camper over Labor Day weekend. The park attendant was notified of the electrical issue and someone was sent out to work on the power box on our site. We were told it was fixed and we shouldn't have any more problems. Later that day, both our site and the one next to us had the same electrical problem. The park is in desperate need of an update and after speaking to others, its been an issue for a while. We are now stuck with the bill of fixing our air.

Well we been going there for almost 40 years but since they went to volunteers at the park its not as freindly there are a lot of dogs running loose especially little dogs we take 3 big dogs and walk them and have dogs running up while we are walking and if there is a problem with the electric or water they have to call and takes a while to get fixed Gary used to run the gate and would have it fixed asap just not the same park i don't understand why we pay taxes and can't have decent parks to go to.

It’s time for an electrical upgrade, the parks main breaker tripped multiple times during our stay.

Friendly camp hosts. Close to National forest if you like to ride. VFW is really close if you’re interested in a cool spot to have a drink.
