The park/sites are great. The gate attendants were very friendly and very knowledgable of the regulations. Now for the bad: Don't like reservation. (everyone I talked to don't either) If you want to save money, Have it FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED pay at the gate with credit card, you would not need anyone to process the reservations. Attendant could give vehicle tags as you do now. I been using Corp parks for many years when it was first come, first serve, even when you had it when every 5th site was reservable is better than all sites. I had a bad experience my last reservation. Reserved a site for 5 days and had to cancel cause we both got covid and you charge me $10. Not fare, I had no control over that .

Make sure you call or go see site before you reserve one. I had to back out of the area to be able to leave the site. They are to close together. We had site 97.

It was absolutely beautiful when we went. Our site had sight lines to the lake.

Park is beautiful. Shower houses and toilets were filthy! Very sad. We have visited several in Kansas which were mostly very clean. This was the worst shower house experience by far.

Everything about the campground and our campsite was good, except for the continuous rain.

The good: The campground, pine forest and lake setting are beautiful. It's fairly flat, so great for kids riding bikes, etc. There is a good playground too.
The bad: The staff didn't take care of the restrooms during the 3 nights we stayed. The men's toilet in the shower house was overflowing for 2 days, and was still so when we left. There was a burn ban on while we were there and it was strictly enforced via camp staff, local police and a park ranger. Several sites got tickets. Felt bad for the people who had to cook over a fire because their stove wasn't working. They kept their fire very small and extinguished it immediately after cooking. It was an expensive dinner for them.

The scenery was amazing! Unfortunately we were under a fire ban and didn’t get to have a campfire. About four other sites near us did decide to have fires and there were no consequences or anyone from the campground checking. The main bathroom didn’t have soap to wash your hands and was frequently out of toilet paper. The showers were sketchy.
