What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

We loved this campground pre tornado. Obviously that’s not anyone’s fault, but it’s just not the same. We missed being able to hike the short trails or go up to the higher campsites. It still needed a lot of cleanup (leaves for example) that still hadn’t happened. The ground was very uneven and covered in knee deep leaves which was a little dangerous. The campground is also way too large to only have one shower house. We enjoyed watching boats go in and out and sitting down by the water. The camp host was very nice. We had great weather and our picnic table was covered which was a bonus. We loved having a campfire and looking out at the water. We would come back.

We didn’t realize that we had booked a double site (no America The Beautiful discount on doubles) and that it only had 30amp service. It was also not very level. However! The park is gorgeous! The site selection was our own fault. And the staff is super friendly and helpful. Good birding here too. Recommend!

We initially had a great time at this campground. We loved all the trees and beautiful water views. The beach leaves a little to be desired, it was very rocky and hard to access. The campsites had ample space between them and are not on top of one another. What made this trip memorable and not quite as enjoyable, was the tornado that came through the campground on Saturday night of our stay. This was at no fault of the campground, but it was a definite set back. Trees were down all over the place, electric was off, no internet. Fortunately, no one in our party was injured, our camper was spared and we still had running water. The campground was going to close for a while to clean up all the storm damage. But, tornado or not, we would stay here again.

We happened to be there when the tornado struck on Sunday May 26, 2024. We were lucky. Others were not. I would like to see trash cans throughout the campground, not just at the bathroom and dump station. Also would be much better if hose at dump station had male garden hose end to attach to the RV. Thanks

We enjoyed our time at Prairie Creek. It was a great base camp to go explore all the bike trails around the Bentonville area. Originally, we were in Site 86. The problem with several of the sites in the immediate vicinity (85, 86, 89) were that the picnic table was on the driver's sideof the RV/Trailer/Etc. So when we sat under our awning in Site 86, we were about 20' away from the picnic table for Site 89. Our picnic table was on the opposite side of our trailer with no shelter. And if we did use it, we would be not that far away from the folks in 85 if they were on their awning side. I know this sounds convoluted but we enjoy our space and try to respect the space of others in the campground. After 2 nights in Site 86, we moved to Site 25 which did NOT have the misplaced picnic table situation. The remaining 5 nights of our stay were great! Also Site 25 was very close to the shower house which was a nice thing!
