What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

Site was beautiful with the fall foliage. We saw plenty of deer in the late evening/early mornings. It is a 'tighter' spot [and shorter] than some of the other sites; we pull a 24-ft camper, so it wasn't a big concern. If you're confident with your backing skills, no problems. If you're new to backing, just be cautious & you'll be fine. This is a level site with ample space on either side.
DOWNSIDE: It has a lot of chert rock and they are large. If you're concerned with rolling your ankles or you have balance issues, I don't recommend this site. Most sites in this immediate area have chert. (Sites located in the #10-20 range are friendlier on the ankles & less chert).
Would we book this site again? Possibly, we just prefer the sites previously listed.

Beautiful park with beautiful views and we will definitely be back. We stayed in site 97 which sits atop a cliff and is shady and spacious. It does not have access to the lake, but has the prettiest view of the lake in this section of the campground!! It’s also a little more private and secluded versus the other campsites closer to the marina and swim beach.
For water you need to bring containers and use the spigot to fill them as there is not a water hookup at the site. Bathrooms (vault) are a good distance up hill and it is walkable, but we drove there most of the time.
Its tent pad is large and level with a gravel base and bordered with railroad ties. The paved parking pad is slightly sloped and separates the tent pad from the concrete table, fire pit, and electric hookups. To get electricity to the tent, you must run an extension cord over the parking pad to the hookup, which means you have to unplug it each time you drive in or out of the campsite.
There were many trees to chose from to hang our hammocks, and the Rim Rock Trail runs through the lower edge of the site but we didn’t see anyone hiking. It’s a very quiet and peaceful area. Highly recommend!!

Great campsite and reasonable rates. Will come back for sure.
Areas of improvement: you need better sign directions to find the campsites, especially at night. Too easy to get lost or turned around. It's frustrating.

I liked the location and how close it's to Rogers. The campsite we stayed at was very clean and even had a herd of deer waiting for us! Beaver Lake is beautiful tucked in the hills and forest. We spent time hiking at nearby Hobbs State Park. Next time, I'll camp closer to the lake!

nice sites with wide easy access; mostly flat for campers; a variety of wooded and mostly wooded sites (ours was mostly wooded);
acceptable restrooms and showers though water seemed to pool everywhere after shower usage; great picnic tables with roof that was nice in the rain we had;

One of our favorite get away places. In the woods, on the lake. Close to Rogers and greenway bike paths
