What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

This is a nice park with electricity and water at most sites and there are showers. The place is clean and quiet and is well worth the visit.

Near the lake, quiet. The facility was older with some leveling issues but otherwise it was great! Nothing we couldn’t manage easily!

This was our third stay at Prairie Creek. It has gotten progressively worse. The sites are not well maintained. I had serious difficulty backing into our site because the site is on the side of a hill and loose rocks partly cover the paved pad. The road pavement drops off a good 6-8" if you are not perfectly lined up to very narrow pad. I'm assuming some of this is due to budget problems. There was no one at the check in station for the first 2-3 days of our stay. Then the person got all official about us having the proper mirror hanger. I only saw a ranger pass through the area once in the week we were there. It is sad that such a beautiful place is not being better maintained.

Overall, Prairie Creek is a nice campground. However, there are a few things to know especially if it is your first time visiting like it was for us. First, some of the sites are pretty unlevel so be prepared to level up your RV. Second, the water connection for our site was several feet behind our site so I didn't have enough hose to reach my trailer. Third, site selection is important because some of the sites are pretty small and some sites are not suitable for larger units. Be sure you check as well as you can to choose a site that is appropriate for your rig and your needs. This is somewhat difficult to do when making an online reservation.

Site is very hard to level your trailer. The east side at least 2 1/2 inches lower than the west. It also should specify 24 foot Trailer so you can level the trailer front to back. Not good!! No people at the gate.
