What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

One work: HORRIBLE! A single bathhouse that was disgustingly filthy. Showers were dirty and water pooled on the floor rather than draining downward. Of the three showers, one wasn't working, and the other two ran for about 4 seconds before you had to push the button again. One of the toilets was clogged with a mountain of poop and paper in it. No trash can in the bathroom. The single bathhouse was 3/4 of a mile from our campsite. A local mens/ladies room to our camping loop were pit toilets that were equally disgusting. This was the worst recreation.gov campsite I've ever stayed at.

The campground at Prairie Creek is located on a beautiful peninsula on Beaver Creek. Location is beautiful and the power is stable. Approaches to campsites are dated to a different era and narrow. Power or picnic tables are sometimes position on the opposite side of modern campsites. Our 22’ single axle trailer had difficulty making it into our site (for the first time ever) . . . Many trailer scars in pavement indicate it seems to be a systemic problem at the campsite. Beautiful campground , just do your research before choosing your site.

Place was clean and quiet.
There is no tent pad. No hot water. It warms up slightly but not enough to keep you warm. Fairly miserable shower which is the only reason that I camp in a campground.
