Very nice location, high in the Ozark mountains. The recreation area is essentially the very top of White Rock Mountain, with cliffs dropping off all around you. Pretty cool! There is a nice, easy two mile loop going all the way around the recreation area as well as picnic, day use and viewing spots at one end of the site. The campsites are tucked away and at least during my stay were nice and quiet.
There is a general store a short walk away which has a some basic items available, like bug spray, charcoal, ice, and ice cream. Pretty handy.
The campground host we dealt with (Amber) was born to do this job. She's the most genuine and informative host I've ever dealt with I think.
From what I understand the area gets crazy crowded during the fall color season but that's to be expected. I'll bet the views are unbelievable.
I'm planning on going back.

We had a great time here. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful. The hikes were beautiful. One of the best views of Arkansas is about a 5 min walk from the campsites. It was breathtaking. The road to get up there wasn’t as bad as we were expecting, but it’s still not an easy trek. We camped during the first week of July, which we regret because it was super hot. The gnats and flies were really bad as well. But we do want to come back here in the future during the fall to see the changing colors of trees.

Very clean and everyone is so nice. Wonderful view to wake up to. Wasn’t sure if it was the time of year that we went but the bugs were so horrible it took us a minute to set up camp. Good swimming spot under the bridge and plenty of hiking trails! The general store has everything you need if you left something at home.

Had a medium sized group at site 9 with plenty of space for; 3 tents 2 (could fit 3) cars & 3 hammocks easily, with 2 durable stone tables & plenty of extra room.
About 30-50 yards downhill into the forest following a small footpath will take you to a portion of the rim trail and has a incredible view if you hike down a little.
The staff upkeeping the grounds were extremely extremely friendly and overall I and my group couldn’t recommend white rock any more, the grounds are very well kept and the views can’t be beat. Will certainly be returning!

This place would've been great as a day trip (the rim trail is beautiful and great CCC history), but I was a little unhappy as a 3-day camper. The place is kind of falling apart, so there's some accessibility issues and a lot of construction noise and road grading going on, and it's supposed to be a 24/7 quiet hours campground! Road up there was closed - signage for detour was not obvious and there was no email communication about that. Worst part was they sold me wet firewood with no amends.
