Cold and snowy when we were there, so I'm not sure how all suburban vacationers would fare. The cabin was great in that CCC way, and we hiked the perimeter of the peak, which was outstanding.
We especially would like to thank the two staff people who helped us while we were there. The woman who checked us in had a lot of splendid advice, and the man we dealt with the next day was very good at keeping us informed and stocked with wood. First rate!

This is a fantastic campground. The cabin was wonderful, with fantastic views and the hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. From Amber calling us in advance to warn us of the ice covered roads due to a recent storm, to Sue's helpful tips and hospitality, we enjoyed every minute of our stay and will definitely be back. We enjoyed the cold weather with a warm fire in the cabin, and hiking the trails with snow and ice on the ground added an element to the trip that was unexpectedly nice.

Loved the lodge. It was nice to have everyone together in one place. The only down fall was the lay out of the two bedrooms. It is a little awkward walking through someone's room to get to the Livingroom. The location and views were amazing. The staff is great and easy to work with during the stay.

The facility was what I expected. It is older but well kept. The staff was outstanding. They took care of all our needs. I view was beyond amazing. This is a beautiful place to spend a relaxing weekend.

every part of the process to rent a cabin was flawless - the stay exceeded expectations - personal attention to our needs was provided by the Gift Shop/CheckIn Office - Lodge was just as described - will return

Just a very quiet restful place to unplug and enjoy. Cabin was wonderful and the hiking trails were excellent.

Hiked the entire 17 mile loop in a day—great trail but too much for a day—our bad choice.
Cabin was rustic, we understand, but could use some updates. Wood stove didn’t heat well and kitchen cabinets and drawers were very difficult to open and close. Toilet rocked and shower was falling apart. Love the area but would probably not do the cabin again.

What a beautiful location at the top of the mountain! The hosts were extremely helpful and available. I stayed in a cabin and they were rustic, yet homey and clean. If you're staying there during a cold time of the year be aware that the woodstove is the only source of heat for the whole cabin (with a small space heater for the bedroom). I loved this, but it took a full 24 hours to make the cabin finally feel warm so dress accordingly!

Great spot. Amazing easy and difficult hikes nearby with clean restrooms at the trailhead and camping spots. Amber in the general store is a wealth of knowledge, so definitely stop by to ask her opinion before heading out. Spots 5-8 are a little uneven if you plan on car camping so I I would go for 1-4 if you need a level spot.
