White Rock Mountain was great. Me and some buddies did our annual trip here, we camped at campsite 2. The scenery was excellent. We were unable to see the sunrise, but the sunset over the mountains was amazing. The mountains are much more majestic than I expected out of Arkansas. My only disappointment with the scenery was that the stars were not as good as I thought they would be. I guess we were getting light pollution from Fort Smith or maybe it was cloudy. Most amazingly, on our way driving up the mountain we saw a black bear cub. I saw some reviews complain of bugs, but I applied a lot of bug spray each morning and ended up with very few bites and no ticks. The latrines were some of the cleanest I've ever seen at a campground. Me and my friends had a very memorable experience. We wanted a hidden gem that wasn't full of people and that was awesome, White Rock Mountain was exactly what we were looking for.

Loved White Rock! Site was great, views off the side of the mountain were breathtaking. Even in a heat wave, the temps were comfortable at night and not too bad during the day. The rock rim trial was a nice activity with several rest stops along the way to take in the scenery. General store and hosts were great and went out of their way to help!

We enjoyed the views and the great hosts at White Rock Mountain.
Lessons learned were:
Get gas before leaving I-40.
Print a detailed map showing the best route from where the blacktop ends to the campground. Google and GPS will send you all over the dirt roads.
Summer time in Arkansas = ticks and poison ivy and there are no showers to wash it off so bring cleaning wipes that will remove the oils.
I would like to return in the fall if the roads are good.

The trails are excellent. The views are magnificent. We enjoyed two days stay in the White Rock Mountain and hope next time can stayed longer for hiking. We cooked in the cabin, and made wonderful meals, the kitchen was fully equipped with pots and pans.

After 15 years we returned to White Rock Mountain and it was even better (cabins & gift shop) than before. The view and hiking was just as spectacular from back in 2004 and this time we were able to drive the other roads down and around the mountain. Awesome.

I was surprised at the cost of pet deposits it was 100.00 per dog for me 200.00 almost the cost of the cabin. There appears to a no refund policy. I know my dogs caused no damage. The cabin is on a steep down slope and the steps are unsafe for most people. They are far apart and steep. Once you finally get to the cabin things are some what better. Far the most part the cabin is as advertised, the living room furniture had seen better days. The pullout sofa, allowing for 4 persons, did not work it could not be pulled out. All the casual chairs appeared to be in disrepair and unsafe to sit on. I have been to White Rock in the past and always had a good experience. It seemed to be under new management. I will tell people about but will not recommend it.
