White Rock Mountain Recreation Area offers an incredible location with stunning views of the Boston mountains and well-maintained rustic cabins. The friendly and helpful staff, particularly the camp hosts, contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, making it a peaceful retreat for visitors. Very nice location, high in the Ozark mountains. The recreation area is essentially the very top of White Rock Mountain, with cliffs dropping off all around you. Pretty cool! There is a nice, easy two mile loop going all the way around the recreation area as well as picnic, day use and viewing spots at one end of the site. The campsites are tucked away and at least during my stay were nice and quiet.
There is a general store a short walk away which has a some basic items available, like bug spray, charcoal, ice, and ice cream. Pretty handy.
The campground host we dealt with (Amber) was born to do this job. She's the most genuine and informative host I've ever dealt with I think.
From what I understand the area gets crazy crowded during the fall color season but that's to be expected. I'll bet the views are unbelievable.
I'm planning on going back.
