Rock Creek Lake (Inyo National Forest, CA)

This particular site is probably the RV site with the LEAST amount of exterior space. But it was great for us! We only had our small trailer. There are two parking spaces and there was plenty of room for our outdoor "kitchen" with table and stove. There is no better place to camp here than here at Rock Creek lake, if you want to do day hikes in the "Many Lakes Valley" starting at Mosquito Flat. Also, of course, for fishing in the lake or higher lakes. Be sure to stock supplies. The small groceries at the local resorts are limited, but they do have a pretty good selection of "emergency" items like milk and eggs. They also have ice, but it is expensive, and it is all crushed. They do not have block ice up there. Hosts Luis and Jamie were here for their 3rd year. They were fantastic. I do wish that there were more "enforcement" officers. There was a fair amount of abusive campers, especially the fisherwo/men.

First off, the hosts were very welcoming. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly - also gorgeous location. However, the recreation.gov listing was very misleading. I specifically booked two sites to be next to each other as we had friends coming. We arrived to discover that not only were the sites not next to each other, but they were also “walk in” sites when they were listed as “tent only” which was not ideal with our vehicle. We will not be returning for camping, more of a day use spot. Gorgeous lake, but camping set up was disappointing.

Excellent get away!

Friendly camp hosts, clean bathrooms, and although the campsites are pretty close together, you can still get some privacy. Campers tend to be nice folks. Recommend you stop in Bishop to get firewood; there wasn't much for sale at the campground.

Rock Creek Lake is a beautiful setting and the tent sites are spaced well apart - the rv sites not so much. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful and kept the bathrooms very clean. The bathrooms however could use some updating/upgrading adding a few clothes hooks to hang up your towel, fixing a leaky toilet and adding warm water. For $35/night in camp fees and it being fully booked during its open season that should be a doable investment .

The camp hosts Jean and Luis Zarate are the best! They were so helpful and kind and we look forward to seeing them again someday soon at their new posting down at Oak Grove Campground near Warner Springs. Such good folks!

Beautiful campsite. Spotless bathrooms and the campsite hosts keep the whole campground in an immaculate condition.

A gorgeous campsite, be aware that parking is a reasonable distance from campsites. But so pretty!
