What Guests Are Saying
Grasshopper Flat Campground offers a spacious and well-maintained environment with beautiful lake views and clean facilities, thanks in large part to the attentive camp host, Patty. Visitors appreciated the quiet atmosphere and large campsites, along with nearby amenities such as a general store. However, some concerns were raised about bear activity, restroom cleanliness, and campsite spacing, which could detract from the experience for some campers.

We really enjoyed Grasshopper Flat camping area. The facilities are in very good condition. The best part of camping here is that it is so quiet and peaceful. High speed boat traffic is banned from Davis Lake, including water skiing and any personal water craft. That keeps the lake area quiet. There is a nice trail that surrounds about 1/3 of the lake that is suitable for hiking or cycling. The entire trail is shaded by the forest. If you like gravel roads for bicycle riding there are plenty of options accessible right from your campsite. My only complaint is that there are no "bear boxes" to store your food, and bears do visit this area.

Patty the current host is excellent. Hope she sticks around. Bathroom and showers kept clean and she handled any nuisance campers accordingly.

There wasn't a perfectly level spot to pitch our 2-person tent, but the location was quite nice. Not too far from nor too close to bathrooms. Reasonably close to the lake's shore. Everything was clean and the host was welcoming on our arrival day. I would recommend this campground without hesitation.

My only peace in life is when I'm spending time in God's country. Although no snow in late December, 😡 I still take the Jeep out and explore, hike and sit beside a warm fire 🔥 when I get a chance.
I find beauty in everything I see, taste and feel, and even though I have not had my snow this year to snowshoe, 🎿 I'm grateful that I can still find my solitude beside a raging river with a campfire as I welcome the storm. Plumas National Forest is beautiful in her own way. It's not my Montana, but she's a good runner up. 🏔️🔥🍁🪵🏞️

I have camped at this campground many times and it is a very nice campground. I have camped at this campsite twice and it is shady, flat, and has lots of room. Bathrooms and showers are close. Not usually a bear problem unless you leave trash out. I put my coolers in my truck n cover them with a tarp. I have camped hundreds of times and I don’t care what people say about smell. It is not smell but they know what an ice chest looks like . Cover them completely with a tarp n I have never had a problem even when numerous campers nearby were getting hit .

Grasshopper is one of my favorite campgrounds. It's always very clean and the sites are spaced out providing plenty of privacy. Also, there's a wonderful bike trail across the road. It's definitely a winner!
