EVERYTHING WAS GREAT, RESTROOMS WERE CLEAN, WE SAW 3 BUCKS WITH FELT ON THEIR RACKS, FRIENDLY CHIPMUNKS AND THE WATER WAS THE LOWEST I HAVE EVER SEEN IT AT LOWER TWIN LAKES BUT WERE GOING BACK IN SEPTEMBER FOR FOUR DAYS. WE WANTED A CAMPFIRE BUT WE UNDERSTAND WHY WE COULD NOT HAVE ONE AND WERE FINE WITH THAT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Recreation.gov needs to tell you when you make the reservation which of the three loops in this campground you were in. They don’t! Worst, the host only grunted and pointed his finger in the direction our campground was when we ask at his site.

Pros: Group campground is clean, has plenty of trees in the overall site, host was available but not intrusive, stores are close and the area is great. The lake is nice until the wind comes up in the early afternoon. Bridgeport is a nice little town with the best frosties and Bodie ghost town is close by. There are also hot springs very close by.
Con: The only real con to this campground is the weather. We have been here about 4 times always the last week of July and it has rained at a minimum of 3 days. This is not a big deal but this year it clouded up, was windy and sprinkled to a downpour every afternoon for 9 days. Since we can't control the weather and we have to go at this time of year, we probably will skip this campground in the future. I wouldn't stay in the regular campground at all because it's mostly sagebrush with very few trees. But I would prefer it over the Mono Village campground where they are packed in like sardines.

Loved the campground, the views were amazing. Very quiet. Wish the fishing would have been better

Our stay was fabulous. Restrooms were well maintained, campground was tidy, water was provided for campfire dousing, bear box free of debris/trash, etc. We will be back and thank you for making our stay wonderful!

The hosts were IN-CREDIBLE. They were firm and reasonable, kept everything better than I've seen it in the years wee've been going there. We go every year several times, but this was a real peak visit.
