What Guests Are Saying
Convict Lake Campground offers a stunning location with beautiful views, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, making it an ideal spot for both short stopovers and extended stays. The campground is well-maintained, with daily bathroom cleaning and convenient amenities like firewood sales and a nearby store. However, many sites lack shade and privacy, and bear encounters can be an issue, particularly for campers with food safety concerns. Overall, visitors appreciate the serene environment and recreational opportunities available in this picturesque area.

Beautiful surroundings. Nice camp site. Site #80 was big enough to accommodate 22' rig with ~20' inflatable boat.

The campsite was very close to the lake. The view of the mountain was spectacular. Restroom and water source was also close by. The added surprise was seeing so many Mule Deer up close. One crossed our path and stopped and stared at us for more than a few minutes before moving on. One was eating the leaves on a tree and continued doing so even with us watching. The store was a short walk also. I wish I could have fished on the Marina Pier but found many places to do so. Being able to have a campfire in the evenings was a plus. The space was large enough to set up both our tent and al arge canopy for shade. The picnic table was a plus. The storage area for food was extra large. The paved driveway was good. At night, it was very peaceful. When we left, we were able to visit Mamouth Village/ski lifts/Mary Lake/Twin Lakes/etc on our way back. The price for the 3 nights was reasonable. The rentals for kayaks was a little high for the limited time frame. We plan on coming back again.

Been coming here for over 20 years. This week only had 1 host, usually 3, and Dennis could not keep up with the bathroom clean up but he did his best. 1 host for 88 camp sites, that should never happen. E bikes everywhere, swimming in the creek, I’m gonna have to find a new fishing hole

The campground itself is OK. The restroom is very clean. No trees around the campsite. So it was very hot when we were there.

This location is beautiful. The campsites are very well maintained and many are very private. They have large parking areas and a pretty decent size camping area. The bathrooms are very clean and ventilated. The lake is beautiful and it is pretty easy to hike the perimeter. There is good fishing in the lake and stream. There are mosquitos at night only. Every site has a bear safe which is really convenient. The convenient store is a short walk up from the campsite with almost everything you could need. Overall, I would definitely reserve more stays at Convict Lake.

Camp site was nice. When I went to the lake I was verbally assaulted by a person that had saved her spot by leaving her glasses to mark the spot as taken. Not a pleasant experience

Beautiful CG. Facilities were clean and conveniently located. Fabulous views of the mountains! Nice to have dump station right there and included in the price. We didn’t know there would be such an easy water fill up spot. We hiked and paddled the lake and got to see Fish & Game dump 500lb. Rainbows at the boat ramp.
My only negative would be tripping hazards in the campsite at night. We would love to come back.
