What Guests Are Saying
Furnace Creek Campground is well-maintained with clean bathroom facilities and spacious sites, making it a great choice for campers. Many visitors appreciated the proximity to major attractions and the helpful staff. However, some noted that the sites can be close together and suggested a need for more electric hookups for comfort during hot weather.

Furnace Creek campground was clean, quiet, and pleasant. Our frustration is with all recreation.gov sites: the cancellation policy is way too lenient. The campground was supposedly sold out but there were MANY open sites. This prevents more people from getting to enjoy these beautiful places. It was especially frustrating because we had site 55 which was at the entrance next to about 10 dumpsters--- noisy and smelly location. It would have been fine if there weren't so many empty spots in much nicer locations in the Campground.

It was really nice to be able to camp in the park with full hookup. Best of all we went onto the wait list and when we got an email from recreation.gov we went on to the website and got in. That really worked well. We enjoyed seeing the park without all the driving.

Furnace Creek has great facilities! Bathrooms and potable water is a close walk away. The campsite is directly adjacent to the parking spot which is really convenient. There are trees that provide a little shade, but not a lot. There is not enough space to comfortably fit a tent under the trees, so expect to be mostly unshaded. It is really hot at night in the spring and summer, so if you are sensitive to heat maybe try one of the higher elevation campsites. Overall the campsite is very spacious and has nice facilities (including a picnic table and a bit of shade) and is close to many of the main attractions. Note: the campsite is rather exposed, i.e. the parking lot area is right in front of the campsite. We experienced flashing lights / car activity during the night which is less ideal. This also means there is not much privacy.
