Dogwood Campground is consistently praised for its cleanliness, beautiful natural surroundings, and well-maintained facilities, including flush toilets and hot showers. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the serene and private atmosphere provided by spacious campsites nestled among trees. Dogwood was one of the cleanest and most beautiful campgrounds I’ve ever been too and my family and I have been a lot. This is my new go to places. I love, love Dogwood. It is close to everything.

The campground itself is quite beautiful, with plenty of trees & natural surroundings that make for a peaceful setting. The highlight of our stay was actually the check-in process—staff were extremely friendly & informative. The woman who helped us was very thorough in going over park rules & even gave us a heads-up about a bear sighting earlier that morning. That level of service was genuinely appreciated. That said, my overall experience was disappointing, and here's why:
Site #41 - This site was a major letdown. It’s on a noticeable slope, which made pitching three tents extremely difficult & uncomfortable. I had called days in advance specifically to ask whether the site was level enough for tents & was assured that it was. That clearly wasn’t the case. Parking was also inconvenient—you have to park your car and then walk down a narrow path to reach the actual site. Another big issue was the noise: we could hear cars passing from the nearby road, including the constant honking of big rig truck horns. This really took away from the "getaway in nature" experience. On the plus side, the site did offer a good amount of privacy.
Bathrooms - The nearest bathroom was quite far from our site. The condition of the facilities left a lot to be desired—there were toilet papers on the floor, a strong odor, no lighting inside the stalls, and an overall lack of cleanliness. The walk back to the site is uphill, which could be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues.
Noise - Our immediate area was quiet for most of the night. One nearby site did get a bit loud after 10 p.m., but it didn’t last long. The real issue was another site we passed on the way to the bathroom—they had extremely loud music, what sounded like a DJ, & a large group of people. It was more of a party than a camping experience. While I’m thankful they weren’t right next to us, it felt inconsiderate and disruptive to the overall environment.
