First time out there we had a great time. I just wish you didn’t have to pay to get into the lake.

I loved the site, it’s very private to had brushes around the site. We were so enjoyed the champing, but only one thing that feel sad, because when I booked the this campground, photos shown there are some shower rooms. But actually, no, only toilets. I can accept it, but the families I invited to join us weren’t happy.

The sites were clean and spacious. We had the luxury of very quiet neighbors (which is often NOT the case). We had a few mosquitoes (to be expected) and great weather. We were at site 36 located in a loop of four or five other sites (presumably 34 -39?) The only improvement would have been a large trash bin or even a single trash can for these four or five sites. Given that we had to locker up all food overnight (bears, racoons) it was kind of ridiculous that we had to leave our trash out and exposed to potential foragers while having our goods locked up. In any case I moved our trash items towards the restrooms for overnight and returned the bags to our campsite in the morning. That said it didn't appear that we had any visitors. There are some decent hikes and incredible birding for those so inclined. Fished at the lake (Kind of steep at $25.00) per person and didn't catch anything. The guy next to us caught two trout in about 4 hours and had much better bait than we were using. Great place to get away and relax. If you are a regular camper you will love this place. Oh and lastly, reviews stated that cell service was available in town but that was not the case with our experience (androids). We would get solicitation texts and and random notifications but nothing could be sent out nor access to any websites for music or what have you. Apparently IPhones have capability to text offline but I couldn't confirm this. Expect to go without service.

Very peaceful. The lake is close by and there are some nice trails to hike for great scenery at the top.

The site #8 itself was a bit on the small side, but the campground overall was beautiful. Plenty of space between sites makes for good privacy. Lots of large trees. There is plenty of hiking in the immediate area. As a distance runner I have found a great place to train at 7000ft. Fawnskin is a great 11mi over a balanced elevation gain/loss. And Lake arrowhead marina is down hill 11mi -1828 elv. loss. The wind kicked up late at night but it seem to blow over the entire campground instead of through the camp it self. It is as though it is set in a small valley. Could defiantly hear the wind but did not bother us at all. the small town is a short 20 minute walk and the lake is very pleasant.
