Nicely spaced sites. Clean restrooms. Lake temperature for swimming is perfect, but easy access to the shore is spotty. As the lake lowers, very little shade to sit under.

my reservation wasn't posted on designated campsite so I wasn't sure if I still owned it for the dates reserved. A little disheartening.

The campground was a great getaway location. Spacious sites, potable water, close to a lake and flushing toilets (only some). Bear locker is provided for food storage and lots of mosquitoes so prepare properly. Didn't see if the camp host is selling wood but there's plenty of down trees on site for firewood. The temperature difference is about 20-30 degrees from daytime to nighttime so bring clothing for both warm and cold. Afternoon lake wind can be crazy so go to the lake before noon if possible or to avoid wind. The sites are a little close together but be mindful of your neighbors and you'll have a great time!

This place is a jewel so stay away. This lake is peaceful. For the fisherman it offers great trolling and beautiful spots. bank fisherman can do well too. watch the afternoon winds. Its better to get out on the lake and off by 10 am to avoid the winds. The campgrounds are nice and clean. there is ample wood about so no need to bring any. Water is better tasting than any water you'll find at the store. bathrooms are well maintained and many water faucets are around. the drive from the nearest town keeps many away. it is 38 miles and a good hour and a half so be patient. enjoy!

Easy access via road heading south from i80, long and windy but goes straight to French Meadows, with further clearly signposted directions to this campground. Easily walkable to the lake head. Main toilets were not working on our trip (visited during Covid), but replacement portable toilets were there. Other toilet outhouse was operational it seemed. Host was friendly. Running water. Each site has a locking cabinet for storing food from bears, a picnic table and a fire pit. On this trip there was some cross-cuts of trees available for firewood, but you'll need to break it down more on your own. Weather was cold when we visited (mid-Jun) and we caught a thunderstorm and hail.
